Elizabeth Quay

“It felt like a waterfront dream—gliding bridges, public art, and golden light that made everything feel cinematic.”

First Impressions

Elizabeth Quay is where Perth comes alive by the water. It’s modern yet calm, with sweeping views of the Swan River, striking architecture, and that clean, fresh energy only a riverside city can offer. I arrived just before golden hour—and wow, did it deliver.

It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for an easy stroll, a spontaneous photo shoot, or a relaxed meal with a view.

Getting There

I walked down from Perth CBD—just 5–10 minutes depending on where you start. It’s also connected to Elizabeth Quay Station, and you can even arrive via ferry if you’re coming from across the river.

Tip: Come around 4–5 PM so you can see it in both daylight and at night when the lights come on.

My Experience

I crossed the stunning Elizabeth Quay Bridge, pausing at the top to take in 360° views—boats gliding by, kids playing in the water park, and the city skyline glowing behind me.

Then I wandered past public sculptures, watched street musicians near the water, and discovered the Spanda sculpture, a white looping structure that looks incredible against a sunset sky.

There were couples taking engagement photos, solo travelers like me taking long, thoughtful pauses, and families just enjoying the moment. It felt safe, open, and full of quiet joy.
