Universal Studio Hollywood
Universal Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles
“It’s not just a theme park—it’s stepping into the movies.”
First Impressions
From the moment I walked under the famous Universal globe, I felt like I was part of something big. There’s something thrilling about knowing you’re in a real working studio and a theme park. It’s where the movies come to life—and for a movie lover like me, that meant nonstop excitement and a few happy squeals.
Getting There
I took a quick Uber from West Hollywood (about 15 minutes), but there’s also a Metro Red Line stop (Universal/Studio City) just a short walk away with a free shuttle to the entrance. Super easy either way.
Tip: Get there right when it opens—the lines are shorter, and you can do the big rides before the crowds arrive.
My Experience
I started with the Studio Tour, and let me tell you—it’s a must. From fast cars to crashing floods and surprise dinos, it’s a ride through real sets and staged thrills. After that, I made a beeline for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—butterbeer in hand, I wandered through Hogsmeade with actual goosebumps.
I also loved Jurassic World, screamed (in a good way) on the Mummy ride, and couldn’t stop smiling in Super Nintendo World—I felt like a kid again, especially after trying the interactive Power-Up Band game.

Snack Break
So many fun themed options! I had lunch at Three Broomsticks (the roasted chicken plate was surprisingly good) and later grabbed a fruity cocktail from Isla Nu-Bar near Jurassic World. There are also classic treats like churros, popcorn, and pretzels if you’re just snacking between rides.
Personal Tips
Wear comfy shoes—there are lots of hills and stairs (it’s built into a mountain!)
Bring a portable fan or sunscreen if it’s sunny—shade is limited in some areas
Don’t miss the WaterWorld show—I didn’t expect much, but it was so entertaining!
Download the official app for wait times, maps, and showtimes—it helped a lot
Why I Loved It
⭐ 4.9/5 — “It’s immersive, exciting, and full of joy. I laughed, screamed (in the fun way), ate too much butterbeer, and walked away with core memories. 10/10 for a fun, feel-good day.”
