Home USA Los Angeles Venice Beach

Venice Beach, Los Angeles

“It was wild, weird, and wonderful—like stepping into a live postcard full of skaters, sunsets, and spontaneous joy.”

First Impressions

Venice Beach has that cool-meets-chaotic vibe you can’t find anywhere else. From roller skaters in gold bikinis to street performers flipping on the sand, it’s sensory overload in the best way. It’s loud, it’s colorful, and it’s undeniably iconic.

I came expecting surf and sand. I left with memories of palm trees, street art, and a whole lot of soul.

Getting There

I drove and parked in one of the beachfront lots off Venice Boulevard, but you can also bike here easily from Santa Monica Pier (about 15 minutes along the beach path). Rideshares also drop off near Windward Ave.

Tip: Come in the late afternoon, catch golden hour, and stay for sunset—pure magic.

My Experience

I strolled the Venice Boardwalk first—hello, street performers, funky souvenir shops, and people watching at its finest. I bought a beaded anklet from a local artist and got a henna tattoo just because it felt right.

Then I headed over to Muscle Beach for a quick photo op (yes, people are actually lifting weights right there on the sand), before wandering into Venice Skate Park—watching skaters fly through the air with the ocean in the background felt like a scene from a movie.

As the sun dipped low, I found a quiet spot on the sand, toes in the water, and just let the day slow down.
